Tanya Korlova

 

 

 

Born in 1987 in Ust`- Kamenogorsk located in Eastern Kazakhstan, Tanya Karlova is a painter whose work focuses on the psychological affects of conflict and dissonance within the human condition.

Using muted colors and symbolic signifiers within her work, she brings the viewers attention to an inner world where fears, addictions, and conflict meet the harsh reality of life’s lessons.

Karlova’s passion for art began at the early age of seven when she developed a natural aptitude for drawing and painting. She studied art in Kazakhstan, and later Siberia, Russia at I.E. Repin under Wassily Fedorov.

Karlova has exhibited her work in Russia, including Novosibirsk, St.- Petersburg, and Moscow.

She currently lives and works in Los Angeles.
